What $10 a month includes
The Team plan is the whole product, not a starter tier. One location, up to 5 users, 20 GB of shared file storage, and a signed BAA. A BAA is the contract in which a vendor accepts HIPAA obligations for the protected health information (PHI) it handles; PHI is any detail that identifies a patient and relates to their health, care or payment. Your practice is a covered entity, the HIPAA term for an organization that must protect PHI, and it needs that contract in place before a vendor handles PHI for it.
- Channels (public and private), direct messages, group DMs, threads, reactions, @mentions, saved messages, channel topics.
- File sharing with previews, a team files library, full-text search scoped to the rooms you belong to.
- Channel roles (Manager, Member, Viewer), workspace owners and admins, invite-only membership.
- Passkeys (Face ID and Touch ID), email verification, a 15-minute inactivity lock.
- Audit viewer with CSV export, retention controls, legal hold, a 13-gate HIPAA readiness checklist.
- Web app on any phone or computer, a Mac app, and an iPhone app in beta.
Extra users: $2 each
The 5 included users are per location. The sixth person at a single office costs $2 a month, the seventh another $2, and so on. There is no seat minimum beyond the plan itself.
| People at one location | Math | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | $10 | $10 |
| 6 | $10 + 1 x $2 | $12 |
| 8 | $10 + 3 x $2 | $16 |
| 12 | $10 + 7 x $2 | $24 |
| 20 | $10 + 15 x $2 | $40 |
A per-diem nurse, a part-time bookkeeper or a summer hire is a two-dollar decision. Most offices give everyone a seat and stop thinking about it.
Extra locations: $10 each, with 5 users and 20 GB
Each additional location is another $10 a month and brings its own 5 users and 20 GB. So the question "should I add users or a location?" has a simple answer: if the people really work at a second site, add the location, because five extra users would cost the same $10 and the location also adds storage and keeps the structure clean.
Worked example, a two-location practice with 13 people:
- Two locations at $10 each = $20 a month, which includes 10 users and 40 GB.
- 13 people minus the 10 included = 3 extra users at $2 = $6 a month.
- Total: $26 a month for 13 people across two locations, with the signed BAA.
- Add the API if you want it: $26 + $20 = $46 a month.
API access: $20 a month per workspace
The API add-on gives your workspace a REST API, webhooks and bot users: a way for other systems, such as a booking tool, to post into channels, and for scripts to read history. It is one flat $20 for the workspace regardless of how many locations or users you have. Most small offices never need it; the ones that do usually want a "new booking" alert in #front-desk. Details are on the API page.
Enterprise: when the Team plan is too small
Enterprise is custom pricing for organizations that need unlimited users and locations, a dedicated instance, custom retention and legal hold settings, invoice billing instead of a card, priority support with a named engineer, custom BAA terms and help migrating from another tool. If you are a 6-person office, this is not for you. If you run 15 clinics and your lawyer wants to edit the BAA, it is. See Enterprise.
No free trial
There is no free plan and no free trial. Instead, plans are month to month, so if Yodl is not right for your office you cancel and are not charged again. Checkout is self-serve through Stripe with no sales call, billing is month to month, and you can cancel anytime.
What a few common offices pay
| Office | Monthly |
|---|---|
| Solo dentist with 4 staff (5 people, 1 location) | $10 |
| Med spa, 2 locations, 9 people | $20 |
| Home care agency, 1 office, 25 caregivers and staff | $10 + 20 x $2 = $50 |
| PT group, 3 locations, 16 people | $30 (includes 15 users) + 1 x $2 = $32 |
| Any of the above with the API | Add $20 |
Yodl is $10 a month for 5 people with a signed BAA; checkout is on the pricing page.
$10 a month per location buys 5 users, 20 GB and a signed BAA. Add $2 per extra user, $10 per extra location, $20 for the API. Month to month, cancel anytime.
