Yodl started as the chat inside PhiClaw, the HIPAA AI employee. We made it its own product because small teams kept asking for just the chat.
Yodl is team chat for small teams that cannot use WhatsApp for work. It was built in Miami by the team behind PhiClaw, the HIPAA AI employee for medical practices.
Where it came from
PhiClaw needed a place where a practice's staff and its AI employee could talk: channels, threads, files, an audit log, and a BAA covering all of it. Slack would not sign one at a price a five-person office could justify. The hospital tools were priced per seat and sold through sales calls. So we built our own, first for PhiClaw customers, then as a product on its own. That product is Yodl.
What we believe
- Small practices deserve the same safeguards as hospitals, at a price that does not need a budget meeting. Ten dollars a month.
- Flat beats per seat. A receptionist who works Saturdays should not cost as much as a surgeon's license.
- Boring is good. Chat should look like the chat people already know and get out of the way.
- Honesty over hype. No app is HIPAA certified, Yodl is not end-to-end encrypted, and we say so.
