Chat that looks like Slack and behaves like a compliance officer.
Channels, messages, files and search for the team, plus the roles, audit log, retention and sign-in rules an owner needs. All of it on the $10 plan.
Channels
Public channels anyone on the team can browse and join, private channels for owners or a single location, a topic on every channel, and a Manager who controls membership and settings.
Messages, threads, mentions
Direct messages, group DMs, threads with reply counts, reactions, @mentions with autocomplete, unread and mention badges, saved messages, light markdown (bold, italic, code).
Files and voice notes
Upload photos, PDFs, spreadsheets and voice notes. Preview inline, download, and find everything again in the team files library. 20 GB per location.
Search
Full-text search across the rooms you belong to, and only those. A member cannot search a private channel they are not in.
Roles
Workspace owners and admins, plus per-channel Manager, Member and Viewer roles. Viewers can read but cannot post, which is right for a locum or an auditor.
Admin controls
Invite-only sign-up, remove a member in one click, an audit viewer with CSV export, retention rules and legal hold, a 13-point HIPAA readiness checklist, and an emergency stop for any AI teammate.
Sign-in and sessions
Passkeys (Face ID, Touch ID) or email and password, email verification, trusted-computer sessions, and a 15-minute inactivity lock on every device.
Notifications
Push notifications that never contain message content, per-channel mute, and an "important message" email that only tells you to open Yodl.
Apps
Any browser on any phone or computer, a Mac app, and an iPhone app in beta. Light theme by default, dark mode if you want it.
An AI teammate in the channel.
Yodl was born inside PhiClaw, the HIPAA AI employee for medical practices. PhiClaw customers get an AI teammate that sits in channels and DMs, answers when @mentioned (or always, per channel), keeps a separate memory per room, reads PDFs, spreadsheets and images, transcribes voice notes, searches the web and replies with files. Managers choose what it may do in each channel, and an owner can stop it instantly.
On purpose.
No voice or video calls, no SMS, no app marketplace, no huddles, no end-to-end encryption (search, retention and audit need the server to read messages; see the HIPAA page). Yodl is staff-to-staff chat. Patient messaging lives in other tools.
Team chat your clinic is allowed to use.
$10 a month for 5 people, one location and 20 GB. Signed BAA on every plan. Month to month, cancel anytime.
